This original kitchen was over 25 years old and was starting to show it. The outdated lighting, cabinetry, and design were all contributing to a space in the home that the homeowners no longer loved or enjoyed spending time in. To make the space more efficient an abandoned desk was removed from one of the walls, and a new bookcase with a reduced depth was installed to give more room for circulation within the kitchen while keeping cookbook storage. The old multi-level island was replaced with a single-level island with more seating that made it both better looking and easier to use. Soffits along the ceiling were removed in order to bring the cabinetry up to the ceiling and make the room appear larger, as well as add more storage space. An adjacent butlers pantry was implemented into the design for more storage space as well as a convenient area for making drinks out of the way of the rest of the kitchen. New flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and appliances all came together to truly bring new life to this kitchen, and make it into the space that these homeowners were proud to call their own.
